Seeing The Rock Debut In WWE 20 Years Ago Proves Anything Is Possible
On November 17, 1996 a young man named Dwayne Johnson debuted as a pro wrestler for the WWE under the moniker Rocky Maiava in NYC’s famed Madison Square Garden. He would win his first match and never look back.
Over the course of the next 20 years he changed his name to The Rock, became the biggest star in sports entertainment, crossed over into movies and is now the highest paid actor in Hollywood, according to Forbes.
Now at the age of 44, he’s even thinking of a potential presidential run in 2020 but that’s still four years away! Not many men can say that they’ve accomplished more than this man in the course of the past two decades but how could they?
We’re talking about a man who somehow got the most jacked he’s ever been in his late 40s!
This throwback clip of a 25-year-old DJ wrestling in his first ever pro match at Survivor Series proves that literally anything is possible once you go bald and work your ass off.
Thank you Mr. Johnson for showing us that even with a ridiculous costume (and haircut), you can get anywhere you want to go if you set your mind to it.
