New Solar-Powered Wallet Will Charge Your Phone On The Go
Whether we like it or not, much of our lives are centered around our handheld electronic devices. There’s nothing quite like that sense of helplessness when we don’t plan ahead and see our phone’s battery life slowly draining away.
This is especially tough for people that are on the move a lot, whether for business or pleasure, being tethered to your phone’s battery life is a pretty restrictive way for the modern man to live.
Of course there’s wireless charging phone cases and various other gadgets, but no product has really been able to change the way we interact with our phones and phones’ battery life.
California-based design company Lucca Bozzi wants to change that. The company set up a Kickstarter campaign to fund a classic Italian leather wallet with the capability to charge any handheld device.
But the best part is the wallet gets its energy from the sun, or any light source. Here’s further description from the Lucca Bozzi Kickstarter website,
“The Lucca Bozzi Solar Wallet is a modern interpretation of the classic bi-fold wallet, bettering your everyday by providing +10 extra hours of charge when you need it most – without taking up any of your personal space.
Fused with cutting-edge technology, Solar Wallet integrates intelligent circuitry, charging cables and a renewable energy source, while maintaining the traditional beauty of an Italian wallet.”
Lucca Bozzi’s initial Kickstarter goal was to raise $5,000, but they have actually managed to raise $46,577. That’s an astounding figure, and definitely representative of the need for a cool, normal-looking mobile charger that you can bring with you everywhere.
The functionality has all been tested, with the company’s designers even performing a “multitude of rigorous weight distribution tests” in order to “ensure it’s back-pocket safe.”
So what do you guys think? Is this something you would be interested in using? Would you replace your current wallet with the sleek Lucca Bozzi charging one? Let us know!
