Researchers Determine Link Between Sex And Workplace Happiness
Sex is awesome.
But it can also act like a sort of psychological cure-all if you’re in a rut.
Researchers at Oregon State University have found that having sex significantly boosts the mood and performance of employees.
If you find yourself unable to make it through the slog of the work week and slumping your shoulders the second you enter the office, the key might not be looking for a new job, but actually just getting down ‘n’ dirty in the bedroom.
Keith Leavitt, an associate professor of Business at OSU, and an expert in organizational behavior and management, spoke about the study.
“We make jokes about people having a ‘spring in their step,’ but it turns out this is actually a real thing and we should pay attention to it. Maintaining a healthy relationship that includes a healthy sex life will help employees stay happy and engaged in their work, which benefits the employees and the organizations they work for.”
Sex isn’t just a fun thing to do, we as humans are literally hard-wired to need it and when we have a healthy sex life, we’re firing on all cylinders.
Leavitt explains,
“This is a reminder that sex has social, emotional and physiological benefits, and it’s important to make it a priority. Just make time for it.”
So stop making excuses, it’s really important for your mental and physical health to have sex with your partner, especially if you find yourself constantly in a bad, sour, or frustrated mood at the workplace.
Because, as Leavitt says, having more sex may actually give you a competitive advantage.
“Making a more intentional effort to maintain a healthy sex life should be considered an issue of human sustainability, and as a result, a potential career advantage.”
Imagine, this whole time the key to getting ahead at work was simply… to have more sex.
Get to it!
