Sex On The First Date More Acceptable Than Cracked Phones Survey Says

When women refer to men as pigs you would think they were referring to premature advances. You would assume it was the constant pleas for you to “get out of here” that got them the douche title, but a recent survey says otherwise.
While dating circles maintain going all the way isn’t acceptable until the third date, 34% of singles have had sex before a first date, and millennials are 48% more likely to have sex before a first date than all other generations of singles according to the annual Singles in America survey funded by Dallas-based dating service Match and conducted by Research Now.
Come to find out, millennials have overcome the apprehensions past generations held dear, creating an entirely new societal norm.
Biological Anthropologist and chief scientific adviser to Match, Helen Fisher, who helped develop the representative survey of more than 5,000 singles spoke about this more in-depth.

“We have a real misunderstanding of Millennials. I think they are very career oriented, so sex before the first date could be a sex interview, where they want to know if they want to spend time with this person.”

As opposed to generations before us, sex has lost intimacy. The emergence of dating apps and the heightening sex-positive nature of our generation has, in a way, reversed the order of operations. Having sex has become far less of an intrusion than say, introducing them to family or close friends for that matter.
According to Kimberly Resnick Anderson, a certified sex therapist, it’s the way things are now.

“We used to think of sex as you crossed the line now you are in an intimate zone, but now sex is almost a given and it’s not the intimate part,” Anderson said. “The intimate part is getting to know someone and going on a date.”

While casual sex is becoming more socially acceptable due to the dating apps on our smartphones, according to Fisher the phone itself better be in tip top shape, or it’s a turn-off in a major way.

“Singles don’t like people who have a cracked phone, or an old phone or those who use a clicking sound when typing. I think we will see more of these taboos as singles are leading the way in expressing new forms of politeness in the technological era.”

What a complete change in norms.
A cracked phone for a lot of women mean irresponsibility or even financial issues, which does not sit well with millennial women.
