Doctor Describes Link Between Erectile Dysfunction And Early Death
Erectile dysfunction is not only bad news for your sex life, but it may mean that you are in line for an early death. According to the University of Mississippi, men with erectile dysfunction disorders are at a 70 percent chance of death at a premature age.
According to Dr. Tobias Kohler M.D. and an associate professor of Urology at SIU’s school of Medicine,
Many guys whose ED is caused by poor cardiovascular health wind up having life-threatening heart problems like a heart attack in the next five years.
He goes on to say,
The vessels that carry blood to your penis are tiny, only one to two millimeters across, so they get clogged easily
The blood vessels in your penis can be the first sign that you are set up for bigger health issues down the line.
The tiny blood vessels in your penis are about a millimeter in width so they get clogged with plaque. Plaque forms in your arteries as a result of bad eating, smoking, or lack of exercise and could prevent your major organs from receiving blood.
These blood vessels act as warning sign for greater cardiovascular issues down the line, Dr. Kohler Warn,
If the plaque continues to build, it will start affecting larger arteries, like the ones that carry blood to and from your heart. That can cause a heart attack or sudden death.
This is one of the reasons why it is important to get checked by a doctor you may be able to fix the problem before it becomes a more serious issue.
Don’t freak out, Dr. Tobias says the early signs are reversible
If blocked arteries turn out to be the culprit, an improved diet and exercise regimen may reverse the damage and get your penis back in working order
So hold off on the blue pills, and go see your doctor. It could make the difference between life and death.
